# staking dividends

Staked $REKT participates in USDC distributions that are actually funded. No fixed APY or guaranteed dividend is specified. A reward allocation is not evidence that a particular amount of USDC is available to withdraw.

## Two sources

The retained fee design splits funded protocol fees equally between development and staking. In the new referred cash-loss model, a 100 USDC loss creates a 2 USDC protocol fee: 1 USDC for each side before smallest-unit rounding. The 29.4 USDC referral allocation is separate and does not also belong to stakers.

The 2% adjusted-profit fee is only funded when the retained payout conditions permit it. Debt-close fees, where allowed, use existing cash; debt loss does not create a new USDC fee inflow. [Wins and losses](broken://pages/242f1d94fc901e76e2e1958ee07625490513b9e6).

The second source is eligible LP overflow above the retained 5,000,000 USDC tracked-LP threshold. The current Sui implementation only distributes it when no queued claims or open positions remain, there is at least one staker, and actual available LP cash can fund the amount. Accounting value alone cannot fund a payout.

## The thresholds do different jobs

The 10M cumulative-loss interval controls the new emissions halving. The 5M tracked-LP threshold concerns conditional overflow. Stakers do not need to wait until the LP reaches 5M to receive eligible fee distributions.

The old 2M LP emissions threshold has no role in the new GetRekt mint schedule. It appears only when describing the legacy implementation.

## Who receives a distribution?

A reward index allocates funded receipts according to stake held for the distribution. Stake and unstake must settle the user's prior accrual before changing their weight. Someone who stakes later must not receive fees earned before they joined.

When nobody is staked, the current implementation leaves incoming staking fees in an idle reserve without retroactive allocation. There is currently no reclaim or redistribution entry point for that idle reserve; rounding dust also remains in reserve. These current implementation choices must be disclosed in any deployed release. [Staking and claims](broken://pages/d34724d318b8ff7fb45b099092814929dbd9fc59).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.getrekt.trade/staking-dividends.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
